Support Group for Former Members of Cults, High-Demand, or Spiritually
Abusive Groups. Meetings are held monthly on the fourth Saturday from 3-5 pm
in a central Dallas area. This group is limited to former cult members or
ex-members of high-demand or spiritually abusive groups. To ensure a safe
environment for all participants, a screening process is required for all
individuals wishing to attend the support groups. There is no charge for the
support group.
The facilitators of this support group are Doug and Wendy Duncan who are
former members of a Bible-based cult. After leaving the cult where he was a
member for over twenty years, Doug earned his master’s degree in
counseling and is now a licensed professional counselor. Wendy is a licensed
social worker and holds a master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary. She is also the author of I Can’t Hear God Anymore:
Life in a Dallas Cult, the true story of the couple’s involvement in and
eventual separation from a Bible-based cult.
